According to an estimate, more than 1 billion computer viruses have been created in the world and many anti viruses are also made to protect the computer from these viruses.
The world's first computer virus was created in 1986 by two Pakistani brothers. The names of these two brothers were Basit and Amjad Farooq Alvi, who ran a computer shop in Pakistan. The virus they created was called "Brain Virus".
It was the world's first virus to slow down a floppy disk drive and makes seven kilobytes of memory unavailable to DOS.
Despite damaging other computers, the two brothers claimed they only created the virus to protect their medical software from being copied.
